Inside Info on Online Executive MBA Programs

Should you hold stock in the assertion that Executive MBA programs can yield better job possibilities for graduates? Whether you are itching for a career change or desperate to extend your job opportunities and salary, then getting an EMBA is a great way to do it. However, no one can deny that for many nowadays, there are certain commitments that make its pursuance a bit difficult.

Those with a lot on their plate can still pursue the degree through distance learning, fortunately. Before jumping on the bandwagon, it is important to be enlightened about online education. Here we come to a discussion of a few erroneous statements regularly made of the distance learning Executive MBA.

A common statement is that the distance learning version is not as costly and that it can be finished in a shorter time. This isn’t true because online EMBAs cost almost the same per credit. Indeed, even some of the best packages for tuition fees are not of such a low figure as to merit the assertions of these being bargain-basement versions of the conventional EMBA.

When the yearly tuition is the same, you may end up saving more when taking the online route. This is due to the ability to skip expenditures like travel and boarding costs with the distance learning option. Furthermore, students need not worry about having to pay for the tomes they are using, as they are typically sent to them as digital copies.

There are usually about thirty-six credit hours required for the EMBA. With that said, it must take you about two years to finish the program if you enroll as a full-time student. Take note that overly truncated courses are most likely fraudulent ones, even if faster courses do exist.

‘Getting an online executive MBA is easier.’ They are only easy, though, in the sense that people in them get to choose when to study and when to take breaks or do other commitments. This obviously does not mean that you have simpler or more elementary lessons with which to contend.

It is in fact just as hard. You are still required write down notes, compose essays, read books and prepare for exams; you may even have to prepare a thesis for certain programs. People who are not self-motivated even have a harder time, in fact, because they do not know how to deal with a program where no one is prodding them to learn.

Of course, there are other ways of communicating with class members, including instant messaging and so on. However, the response rate can be somewhat slow. There can be no doubt that only self-motivated people who do not need to depend on others can prosper in these courses.

Some happen to think too that Net-based classes do not differ much in quality. These courses cannot be considered mere clones of each other. You should check the university's credentials and standing with such institutions as the USDE.

Of course, you shall not find all your options on the USDE list. You can just look for them through other sites or resources in that case. There is still a lot that argues in favor of executive MBA programs, in the final analysis.
